Don Muhm (1952) was a reporter for the Marshalltown Times-Republican and farm editor of the Omaha World-Herald before becoming the Des Moines Register’s farm editor in 1960, a position he held for 33 years. Muhm was recognized multiple times as U.S. Farm Editor of the year. His column, “Country Living,” was repeatedly named as the best farm column in the nation. He wrote several books about Iowa, farmers, and farm organizations.
