Mollie Cooney (1976) went to work for KCCI in Des Moines as a reporter and anchor. In 1979, Cooney left to work for KNTV in San Jose, Calif. In 1982, she returned to KCCI staff to anchor NewsChannel 8’s Noon news. She is the recipient of several journalism awards and was selected as an Iowa Association of Family and Consumer Sciences’ “Friend of the Family.”
