1986: Roy Reiman

Roy Reiman (1957) joined Capper’s Farmer magazine and became managing editor at the age of 23. In 1964, he launched his own company, Reiman Publications, in the basement of his home. The company grew to publish magazines ranked among the top 100 in national circulation, with readership for 12 publications at more than 15 million. In 2002, his company was sold to Reader’s Digest Association Inc. for $760 million, making the sale among the biggest in magazine industry history.
