S.E. Cupp of CNN and Leslie Gaines-Ross of Weber Shandwick will present at the second annual Greenlee Summit, which will take place Sept. 5-6 on the Iowa State University campus. Hosted by the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, the summit will bring industry professionals, community leaders, educators and students together to discuss strategies for fostering civil discourse.
Giles Fowler, who taught at the Greenlee School from 1982-2002, died Nov. 3. A funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. in Ames. It will be followed by a reception with refreshments at the church. There will also be a drinks and appetizer gathering the night before. See obituary for more details.
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Iowa State University Alumni Association presented awards to Dave Kurns, the late Henry Ong, Art Slusark and Dan Winters during Homecoming Week. Bill Tubbs received Greenlee's Schwartz Award and Jen Sorenson was recognized by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Joel Geske, associate professor in advertising, is the first recipient of the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication’s Allen Essman Faculty Fellowship made possible by Iowa State alumna, Denise Essman (marketing, 1973). The inaugural Faculty Fellowship rewards an advertising professor who has demonstrated excellence in their profession.
