Tushar Dayal

Bio

Tushar Dayal is a broadcast engineer at the Senate Democratic Media Center (SDMC), an in-house media production facility for the US Senate Democratic Caucus. At the SDMC, Tushar is in charge of the various systems, equipment and workflow that allows Senators to communicate with their constituents. In 2018, Tushar engineered and directed the first town hall event on held on Senate grounds with Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and documentary filmmaker Michael Moore. Prior to joining the SDMC in 2017, Tushar worked for the BBC World News as a broadcast engineer and television director. Throughout his years at the BBC he covered major events such as the passing of the Affordable Care Act, US and UK elections and the United Nations General Assembly. Tushar has also volunteered for the Planetary Society, doing videography, photography and video editing for their lobbying efforts in Washington DC. Tushar graduated from Iowa State University in 2009 with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, concentrating in Science Communication.
