Launched in spring 2017, Strategic Counseling in Public Relations (P R 322X) offers insights about management within the public relations industry.
The experimental class focuses on reputation management, specialty areas within public relations, staffing structures, alignment of communications with business objectives and executive coaching. It includes units on government relations, investor relations and crisis communication, among others.
The course also explores communication management in various settings: corporations, nonprofits, government and public relations agencies.
“This course will prepare you to respond with confidence when the CEO of a 30,000-employee company turns to you and asks, ‘What do you think?’” said Lecturer Christine Jensen, current instructor.
