Bio
Sara Ziegler is the sports content editor at The New York Times, where she plans and edits the sports section of the daily print newspaper. She graduated from the Greenlee School in 2000 with a B.A. in journalism and political science. Ziegler was the editor in chief of the Iowa State Daily in 1999-2000, and she served on a task force that was intended to move the Greenlee School forward after litigation between the Ames Tribune and the Daily.
Before joining The Times, Ziegler was an editor at the data journalism site FiveThirtyEight, at the legal news service Law360, and at the Omaha World-Herald, where she began her professional career. She also served as president of ACES: The Society for Editing, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the field of editing.
Ziegler grew up in South Dakota and now lives in New York City with her husband and two cats. She regularly returns to Iowa to visit family and attend Iowa State games.
